Eugene J. Gessler

Eugene J. Gessler, 92, of Pompton Plains, formerly of Little Falls, died Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2021.

Born in Detroit, MI, Mr. Gessler moved to Bronx, NY as a child where he resided until the age of 18 when he moved to New Jersey. He settled in Little Falls in 1957 where he and his wife of 68 years, Lisa, raised their family and he enjoyed bowling and fishing. Mr. Gessler also enjoyed spending time at his home in Highlands, NJ and his winters in Florida. He moved to Cedar Crest Village five years ago.

He was a former member of the New York National Guard and the Passaic Valley Elks.

Mr. Gessler was predeceased by his son, Stephen E. Gessler, on Dec. 12, 1998.

Survivors include: his wife, Lisa (nee Strobel); his son, Gregory and his wife, Virginia of Columbia, NJ; his daughter in law, Deborah Gessler of Little Falls; his four grandchildren, Jennifer Sokalski and her husband, Randall; Susan, Laura and Joseph Gessler and his two great grandsons, Stephen Jay Lijoi and John Stephen Sokalski.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021 from 1-5 pm at Bizub-Parker Funeral Home, 47 Main St., Little Falls, NJ.  Private Cremation to follow.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to Great Notch Fire Co. #4, 170 Long Hill Rd., Little Falls, NJ 07424.
