Frederic Sykes, Jr.

FREDERIC SYKES, JR., 83, of Little Falls died Friday, June 4, 2021.

Born in Paterson, NJ, Mr. Sykes resided in Little Falls since 1939. He retired as a Custodian with the Little Falls Board of Education. Previously, he was employed at the Little Falls Library.

Mr. Sykes was a 55 year member of Eagle Hose Co. #1 of the Little Falls Fire Department earning many life saving awards. In 2004, he was recognized as Firefighter of the Year by Knights of Columbus Council #3835 of Little Falls.

He was predeceased by his parents, Fred Sykes, Sr. and Dorothy (nee Skinner) Sykes.

Survivors include: his wife, the former Josephine Andalora; his step daughter, Diane Darpino Duran of Cedar Grove and his step granddaughter, Gianna Duran.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm on Monday, June 7, 2021 at Bizub-Parker Funeral Home, 47 Main St., Little Falls with a Little Falls Fire Department Service at 6:30 pm.
