Genevieve T. (O'Reilly) Hilliard Cavadini

Genevieve Theresa O’Reilly Hilliard Cavadini passed away peacefully on  Wednesday, May 11, 2022, in her home, surrounded by her family, after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. She was 78 years old.

Genevieve was born in Astoria Queens on November 19, 1943. She graduated from Our Lady of Perpetual Help Business School. When she was 18, she married David Hilliard and had three children. They settled in Lyndhurst, NJ. At the age of 27, she was widowed. She attended St. Barnabas Nursing School and became a nurse, and then earned a bachelor’s degree from Montclair State University. She married Charles Cavadini in 1974. They settled in Clifton, NJ, then Little Falls, NJ. She was a member of the Glen Ridge Country Club, and enjoyed skiing, tennis and golf. In later years, she became a snowbird and spent the winters among friends, family, and friends that are family at the Spring Run Golf Club in Bonita Springs, FL.

Genevieve was predeceased by her first husband, David Hilliard, her parents, Thomas and Margaret (Mahan) O’Reilly, her brother, Thomas O’Reilly, and sister, Patricia O’Reilly.

Devoted wife of Charles Cavadini for 48 years. Loving sister to Agnes Ward, and Loretta Cafferty. Beloved mother to her three biological children, David Hilliard (Dana), Loretta Gallagher (Dennis), Jean Mary Hughes (William) and four stepchildren, Chuck Cavadini (Laura), Linda Cavadini, Marian Braun (Scott), Karen Glaser (Patrick). Devoted grandmother to Kyle Hilliard, Kira L’Amoureux (Christopher), Jessica O’Keefe, Jenna Pascarelli (James), Gabrielle Kretinin (Andrey), Genevieve Hughes, William Hughes and Reilly Hughes, Nicole Nguyen (John), Natalie Porcella (Gerard), Jamie Flecknoe (Matthew), Michael Rosenbloom (Kristen), Daniel Gustavson, Kristy Gustavson, Christina Glaser, Steven Glaser. Great grandmother to Anya and Sebastian Kretinin, Mila Pascarelli, Scarlet and Daphne L’Amoureux, Grace Nguyen, Evelyn Nguyen, and Juliet Porcella.

Genevieve was a congregant of Holy Angels Roman Catholic Church in Little Falls, NJ, and Our Lady of the Light Roman Catholic Church in Estero, Florida.

The family invites you to join them for a memorial service and celebration of Genevieve’s life from 4-8 pm on Monday, May 16 at Bizub-Parker Funeral Home, 47 Main St., Little Falls. Funeral will be 9:00 am Tuesday from the funeral home and 9:30 Funeral Liturgy at Holy Angels RC Church, 465 Main St., Little Falls. Entombment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, No. Arlington.
