BRUNILDA CRUZ, 69, of Paterson died Friday Evening at Valley Hospital, Ridgewood.
Born in Camuy, Puerto Rico, she came to New Jersey on May 25, 1968 and has resided in Paterson since. She was employed as a distribution clerk at Stern’s Distribution Center in Wayne, retiring in 1988. She was surrounded by her family and all of their love in her final days.
Brunilda loved learning about and reading the Bible and served as a de facto social worker in Martin de Porres Village on Green Street in Paterson offering assistance with social security and other perplexing issues for the residents.
She was predeceased by her father, Avelino Cruz, in 1999.
Survivors include her two daughters, Christie Perez and her husband, Rafael of Totowa and Janet Lindez and her husband, David of Montclair; her mother, Inocencia Cruz of Paterson; her sister, Sara Acevedo of Florida; her two brothers, Francisco and Hector Cruz, both of Clifton; and her three grandchildren, Ethan A. Nieves, Adonijah E. Lindez and Clarissa E. Lindez.
Visitation will be from 5-9 pm Tuesday at Bizub-Parker Funeral Home, 47 Main St., Little Falls, NJ 07424. Funeral will be 10:00 am Wednesday at the funeral home followed by interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa.
