Carol L. (Hanssen) Albanese

CAROL L. (nee Hanssen) ALBANESE, 86, of Cedar Grove died Tuesday, March 14, 2023.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Carol was raised in Paterson, NJ and had resided in Cedar Grove since 2005. She had been employed at Valley Hospital.

Carol was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend. Carol was known for her pleasant and welcoming smile. She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and enjoyed attending all of their sporting events and recitals.

Carol was very dedicated to her faith. She was a parishioner of Holy Angels RC Church, Little Falls; volunteered with the Little Sisters of the Poor at St. Joseph’s Home for the Elderly in Totowa; was a member of the Hawthorne Caballeros; participated in Cornerstone and served in various leadership roles within Cursillo.

She was predeceased by her husband, Jack R. Albanese in 2010 and by her sister, Joan Cottrill.

Survivors include: her children, Jennifer Merkel and her partner, John Turner, Jill Lucanie and her husband, Leonard; James Butman and his late wife, Anne, Charles Butman, Marc Albanese and his wife, Suzanne, Nina Scott and her husband, James and Gia Caponegro and her husband, Michael; fourteen grandchildren and one great grandson.

Visitation will be from 4-8 pm on Thursday at Bizub-Parker Funeral Home, 47 Main Street, Little Falls. Funeral will be 9:30 am Friday from the funeral home followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Liturgy at Holy Angels RC Church, 465 Main St., Little Falls. Entombment to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Paterson.
