Dr. Jack De Young, age 71, passed away suddenly on February 2, 2021. He was born to the late John P. and Marie A. (Martini) De Young of Little Falls on November 6, 1949 in Paterson, NJ.
Jack was raised in Little Falls and attended Little Falls Public Schools. Upon graduating with the Class of 1967 from Passaic Valley Regional High School, Jack went on to attend Rutgers University where he was a member of ROTC and received his Bachelor of Science Degree. He continued on to receive his Master’s Degree from Colorado State University. Upon graduating with his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Ohio State University, he opened his veterinary practice in Little Falls, the Little Falls Animal Hospital.
Jack was an avid Giants and Yankee fan and enjoyed gardening and dabbling in his hobby of artwork.
Jack is survived by his son, John James and his wife, Danyell of Troy, OH; his grandchildren, Jackson and Kindalle; and his former spouse, Madeline of Uniontown, Pa.
He is also survived by his sisters, Candace Komar of Little Falls and Jill Sheppell of Jensen Beach, FL; his brothers, Michael (Elisa) of Oak Ridge and Robert of Paterson. “Uncle Jack” also leaves behind four nieces, a nephew and was a “Great Uncle” to three nephews.
