Florence Conti Obituary

Florence (nee Woods) Conti, a beacon of gentle kindness and unwavering friendliness, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, in Glen Ridge, New Jersey, at the age of 90.

Born on January 6, 1936, in Paterson, New Jersey, Florence's life was a testament to the power of positivity, and the impact one individual can have on the lives of many. Florence, affectionately known as a loving mother, sister, grandmother and friend, left a legacy of warmth and compassion that will continue to inspire those who knew her.

She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Robert A. Conti, her sister, Joan M. Miller, and her parents, Earl and Agnes Woods.

Her spirit is carried on by her five sons, Ken, Robert, John, Paul, and Thomas, along with their respective spouses, Kathy, Jeanne, Lisa, Marie and Lauren and their families, her sister, Shirley Webster, and her cherished grandchildren, John, Sabrina, Geena, Frank and his wife, Danielle, Christopher, Kaitlyn and Leah who were the light of her life.

Throughout her career, Florence touched the lives of countless individuals, first as the manager of the former Totowa Cinema, where she brought joy and entertainment to the community, and later as a customer service representative for Valley National Bank, where her friendly demeanor made every interaction a pleasant one. Her dedication to her work was matched only by her commitment to her Christian faith, which guided her through life's challenges and triumphs. Florence's life was a reflection of the inspiring words of Helen Keller: "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart." She lived by this principle, always taking the time to connect heart-to-heart with those around her. Her gentle nature and kind soul made her a cherished companion and a true friend to all. As a motivational speaker might say, Florence's story encourages us to lead with love, to approach each day with a kind heart, and to cultivate friendships that uplift and sustain us through life's journey. Her memory will serve as a guiding light, reminding us that the essence of a well-lived life is found in the goodness we share with others.

Florence Conti's life was a beautiful journey of love, kindness, and friendship. As we celebrate her remarkable ninety years, we are reminded of the profound impact one person can have when they live with intention and grace. Her legacy will continue to motivate and encourage us to live our lives with the same generous spirit that she so effortlessly embodied.
