FRED E. LANDSPURG, 91, of Little Falls passed away peacefully on Monday, Aug. 23, 2021.
Born in Newark, NJ, Mr. Landspurg was a lifelong resident of Little Falls. He was employed by United Airlines for 33 years, working as a Cargo Supervisor at Newark Airport. Mr. Landspurg was a Veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during the Korean Conflict from 1951-1954. He was also a member of the Little Falls Fire Department, Eagle Rescue Squad, Little Falls and NJ State Exempt Fireman’s Associations. Mr. Landspurg was a member of the Little Falls United Methodist Church.
He was an avid motorsports fan and spent many weekends over the course of his lifetime attending a variety of racing events that spanned from midgets to sprints to stock cars to Indy cars and Formula One. He was also a devoted Chicago Bears fan and never missed a game. Fred’s lifetime love of racing and football was surpassed only by the love he had for his family and he traveled around the U.S., visiting them as often as he could. He was so very proud of his children and grandchildren and enjoyed spending countless hours with all of them. He considered everyone he met a friend and never hesitated to lend a helping hand.
Fred was predeceased by his brother, Frank Landspurg of Tempe, AZ. Survivors include: his wife of 62 years, the former Alberta Schweinberg; his two children, David Landspurg of Kinnelon and Patricia Hassler and her husband, Jeff of Wayne; his four grandchildren, Melissa, Kelly, Steven and Michael; his sister, Jeanne Mettam of Asheville, NC and his brother, Richard Landspurg of Las Vegas, NV.
Visitation will be from 4-8 pm Wednesday at Bizub-Parker Funeral Home, 47 Main St., Little Falls. Funeral Ceremony will be 11:30 am Thursday at the funeral home followed by interment at Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover.
