Gary De Young, 70, of Pequannock died Saturday at Morristown Medical Center, Morristown.
Born in Paterson, Gary was raised in Little Falls and has resided in Pequannock for the last 45 years. He had been an electronics technician working with companies including Lucent Technologies.
He was a Ham Radio Operator with the call sign KB2JXM, otherwise known as Shadow 7. You can find many memories/photos/ and audio clips on cbradiomemories.com.
Gary is survived by his son, Gary De Young of Nutley, his sister, Diane Turner Wescott, his niece and nephew, Abby and Sean Turner and his friend, Cindy Charity; as well as his close Ham Radio friends: Pat Dellosso, Chuck Nemeth, Bob Calvano, Charlie Stauhs, AJ Tobia, Rob Arms, Bill Guzy, Rick Jackson, Barry Siegfried, Dave De Coons, Rob Disiena, Ari Levine, Jon DeMallie, Raul Inguanzo, Moshe Lehmann, Luis Mercado and Paul Logus.
Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon- 1:00 pm on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at Bizub-Parker Funeral Home, 47 Main St. Little Falls followed by a 1:00 pm prayer. Interment to follow at Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa.
