Gertrude E. "Trudy" (Jenkin) Westervelt

Gertrude E. “Trudy” (nee Jenkin) Westervelt, 97, of Fairfield went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Tuesday, June 4, 2022.

Born in Orange, NJ she resided in Cedar Grove for over 50 years, moving to Fairfield ten years ago. She was the foundation of our family and a woman who lived her faith with love.

Trudy was a member of Chapel on the Hill and was devoted to her Church family. She was an avid letter writer and card sender. She enjoyed writing stories and knitting. Trudy loved to host tea parties and threw them for special occasions.

She was predeceased by her husband, Roswell Carl Westervelt, whom she was married to for 49 years.

Survivors include: daughter, Gail Westervelt of Fairfield, NJ ; his son, James Westervelt and his wife, Joy of Hamburg, NJ; her three grandchildren, Chera Hart, Heidi Savill and Joel Westervelt; her nine great grandchildren (with one on the way) and three great great grandchildren.

There will be a private Graveside Ceremony for the family at this time and a Celebration of Life memorial service at a later time. Memorial Contributions to Chapel on the Hill, 560 Ridge Road, Cedar Grove, NJ 07009.
