HELEN R. (nee Russin) ADAMS, 91, of Totowa died Wednesday at home.
Born in Garfield, she resided there for 28 years before moving to Lodi for 35 years and then Totowa for over 25 years ago. She was an office manager and bookkeeper in the garment industry. Helen took pride in her appearance and was always meticulously dressed in classic fashion. She enjoyed knitting, baking traditional Polish goods and shopping.
Helen was a parishioner of St. Michael’s Byzantine Cathedral in Passaic and more recently attended St. Michael’s Chapel in Woodland Park. She was a member of the Happy Seniors of Totowa. As a proud grandmother she was blessed to have been an integral part of her family and took pride and joy in babysitting her grandchildren, watching them grow up and attending all their activities and sporting events.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 23 years, Edmund Adams, who passed away in 1983 as well as her only loving son, Edward “Eddie” Adams, who passed away in 2022. She was also predeceased by her parents, Peter and Anne (nee Timko) Russin; by her three brothers, Charles, Michael and Andrew Russin and by her sister, Anne Wargo of Garfield.
Survivors include: her daughter in law, Marilyn (Zazula) Adams of Branchville who was more like a daughter to her; her two cherished grandchildren, Kyle and Kimberly Adams; her sister, Mary Zaleski of Paramus and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 9- 11 am on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at Bizub-Parker Funeral Home, 47 Main Street, Little Falls. Funeral will commence at 11:00 am followed by a Byzantine Liturgy will follow at 11:30 am at St. Michael’s Cathedral Chapel, 415 Lackawanna Ave., Woodland Park.
