Helen A. (Steinke) Mortis

HELEN A. (nee Steinke) MORTIS, 101, of Little Falls died Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2022.

Helen worked at Newark Airport for Newark Air Service and Modern Air Transport. She retired from Westinghouse Corp. in Bloomfield in 1981.

Helen was a member of the Jolly Seniors of Little Falls and the Little Falls Golden Age Club and the Amateur Organ Association. She loved to play the organ, read and play cards.

She was the daughter of Frederick Steinke and Julianna Lembke.

In addition to her parents, Helen was predeceased by her husband, Harold D. “Sam” Mortis in 1996 and her daughter, Darlene Eromenok- Nielsen in 2015.

She is survived by her stepdaughter, Susan Wander and her late husband, William; three grandchildren, Jessica Wander, William Wander and Maryanne Spitz plus several great grandchildren.
