Henry "Harry" J. Seebode

Henry J. Seebode, 88, a lifelong resident of Little Falls New Jersey passed away on February 11, 2025.

He was adoringly known as Harry to many that knew him. A community leader that served Singac Fire Co. #3 for over 50 years, attaining Company Chief. He also served as a company delegate at the annual New Jersey firefighters convention in Wildwood for many terms. He was the person who instituted Santa coming to town on the fire engine bringing holiday cheer to the community year after year.
Harry was a graduate of Passaic Valley High school class of 1956. He was part of an ROTC Marine program while in high school and he entered basic training on Paris Island, SC after graduation. While enlisted he served as a radio controller, he was part of a border patrol team in the Mediterranean Sea. Harry continued in the reserves for another four years after his initial term was completed.
Harry was a devout Catholic and a lifelong parishioner of Holy Angels parish where attended grammar school and was always willing to lend a hand. He served as an Altar Boy and later frequently served as an usher.
He and his family enjoyed vacation time at their summer home in Long Beach Island, NJ where he was an avid fisherman and boater.
Harry was a career millwright who worked for Brennan Brothers, formerly of Avenel, New Jersey for over 50 years. Some of his biggest career accomplishments included placing some of the first robotics on the GMC assembly line and building and setting the Mystic River Railroad Bridge in Mystic, Connecticut.
He was very proud of his Irish heritage, but was prouder of being an American. He always put his family first, which included his wife of 64 years, the former Margaret “Maggie” Duff; his eldest daughter, Sally Anne of Brookhaven Georgia, his predeceased, son, Thomas Michael, and his youngest daughter Katie Rose and her husband, John Robert Motherwell of Little Falls, NJ.  He most enjoyed being a vital part of his cherished grandchildren’s lives, Thomas Shane and Hayden Shay Motherwell of Little Falls, NJ. He also leaves behind his sister Mary Ellen Kuist, and several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews who he created lasting memories with.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 13 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at Bizub-Parker Funeral Home, 47 Main St., Little Falls. Funeral will be 9:00 am from the funeral home and 9:30 Funeral Liturgy at Holy Angels RC Church, 465 Main St., Little Falls. Interment to follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Upper Montclair.
