James T. Seery 64, of Pompton Lakes, formerly of Little Falls, died Tuesday, January 21, 2025.
Born in Newark, NJ, Jim resided in Little Falls for most of his life, moving to Pompton Lakes ten years ago. Jim was an avid sports fan who would watch anything sports related, especially the NY Yankees and NY Giants. Jim loved to hear a good joke and would often crack a few of his own earning him the title of “King of the One-Liners”.
Jim was a parishioner of Holy Angels RC Church, Little Falls and a graduate of Passaic Valley Regional High School. He was a member of Tri-Boro Special Recreation for over 25 years until they disbanded. After moving to Pompton Lakes, he became a member of The Explorers. Over the years he enjoyed many activities & outings with both groups, especially bowling, recreation nights, dances and going out for dinner. He was very proud when he was able to fulfill a long-time wish and attend sleep away camp at Camp Jaycee in PA. Jim was also a participant in the Special Olympics for many years.
Jim was always happiest when spending time with his family, whether it was lunch at the local pizza parlor, visiting for the day, sharing in birthday celebrations or his absolute favorite visiting family for the holidays, he was always looking forward to the next one.
He was predeceased by his parents, Peter T. and Lillian P. (Duff) Seery and by his brother-in-law, Kenneth Myers.
He is survived by his three loving and devoted sisters, Tricia Weeber and her husband, Scott and Kathleen Myers, both of Flanders, NJ and Maureen Puglise and her husband, Craig of Totowa, NJ; his brother, Peter Seery; his nieces and nephews, Gavin, Emily, Lance, Shaye, Ethan, Sean, Eric, Kevin and Great Nephew, Nash.
Visitation will be on Sunday, January 26, 2025 from 2-4 pm at Bizub-Parker Funeral Home, 47 Main St., Little Falls. Private Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution in Jim’s memory to The Explorers, P.O. Box 55 Ringwood, NJ 07456
