Janet M. (Wadsworth) Tissot Ceriani

June 13, 1931 — May 26, 2024

Janet M. (Wadsworth) Tissot Ceriani, born in Paterson on June 13, 1931, to Arthur and Mabel (nee Obenauer) Wadsworth, passed away on May 26, 2024, in Livingston, NJ. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who touched the lives of many with her kind heart and warm spirit.

Janet's life was a testament to the values of family and love. Family was everything to her and it was her greatest source of pride.

Janet enjoyed 34 years of annual family vacations on LBI creating traditions and memories with each passing year. These moments were precious to her, and she treasured the laughter and joy shared during these beloved trips.

Throughout her life, Janet was an active and devoted member of St. Agnes Church in Little Falls where she was baptized, confirmed, married and served on the Church Vestry and Altar Guild. Janet received the David P. Hegg Award in 2022, a distinguished honor reserved for senior members of the Episcopal church.  Her church presence and dedication were always felt, and she cared deeply for her church family.

She was active in the Little Falls Ladies Auxiliary, was an avid bingo player, and enjoyed travelling with many clubs of which she was a member. She met many friends and enjoyed her bus trips to the Wind Creek Casino.

Professionally, Janet worked as a Supervisor at the Board of Social Services in Paterson, NJ  for most of her career. She dedicated herself to helping others until she retired in the late 1990s. Her compassion and dedication to her work left a lasting mark on those she served and worked with.

Janet is survived by her children Donna Tissot, Debbie Sauter, Dawn and Fred Bunk, her grandchildren Nicole and David Dilkes, Ken and Jenn Sauter, Kim and Rich Donadio, and Kristen Bunk, as well as her great-grandchildren Jocelynn, Devynn, Declan, and Kove and dear friend Michele Cappetta. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard Tissot, her son Rick Tissot, her son-in-law Nick Sauter, her beloved aunt, Caroline Krum, her cousin Jesse Krum, her second husband Anthony Ceriani, and many dear loving friends.
