Jean (nee Iacobelli / Monda) Ketterer, 89, of North Bergen, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2021.
Born in Paterson New Jersey, Jean resided in Packanack Lake and Little Falls before moving to North Bergen, where she lived for the last 10 years.
She graduated with honors from Eastside High School, serving as Class Vice President, Secretary of The Leaders’ Club and Miss Eastside. She went on to graduate from Sherwood Business School.
Throughout her adult years, Jean worked as an Executive Secretary, Office Manager, Journalist, Radio Announcer and Local Cable News Co-Anchor. She also worked at Chilton Memorial Hospital as both DIrector of Volunteer Services and Public Relations Manager.
Jean had a zest for life which included following her dream to visit Italy, the homeland of her parents. Jean was well known for reaching out to those in need and making contributions to every community in which she found herself. These include service in the Junior Women’s Club, the League of Women Voters and various church groups.
“Jeannie” will always be remembered as a great listener and a woman of deep emotional intelligence.
Jean is predeceased by her son, Neal R Monda and her husband, John J. Ketterer.
She is survived by her daughters, Darlene and Carol Monda, her sons-in-law Jos Lagerweij and John M Ketterer, her daughter-in-law, Norma Ketterer and several grand and great grandchildren, and well as her beloved nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Friday, August 13, from 2 to 4 PM at Bizub-Parker Funeral Home,47 Main Street, Little Falls.
The funeral will take place at Bizub-Parker at 10:30 AM on Saturday, August 14.The service will be followed by interment at Laurel Grove Memorial Park, 295 Totowa Road in Totowa.
