Obituary

John D. Herman, 75, of Galloway, formerly of Little Falls, NJ died Friday, Feb. 4, 2022.

Born in Paterson, John was a lifelong Little Falls resident, moving to Galloway in 2018. He was a 60 year member of the Little Falls Fire Department including Past President of Great Notch Fire Co. #4, a former member of Enterprise Co. #2 and an Auxiliary Member of Eagle Rescue Squad. He was also President for 19 years of the Little Falls Fireman’s Relief Association.

John was a Past Commander of the Sons of the American Legion from American Legion Post #121, Little Falls. He was a model train aficionado and loved to freshwater fish.

John is survived by his wife of 58 years, the former Barbara A. Marra; his two daughters, Sharon Herman of Galloway, NJ and Tammy Hearney and her husband, James of Little Falls and his two grandchildren, Melissa Deysher and her husband, Steven and Michael Hearney.

Visitation will be 2-4 & 7-9 pm on Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2022 at Bizub-Parker Funeral Home, 47 Main Street, Little Falls, NJ. A Little Falls Fire Department service will be conducted at 7:30 pm. Private Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to National Fallen firefighter Foundation, PO Drawer 498, Emmitsburg, MD 21727.
