Joseph L. Coyle, Jr., 89, of Woodland Park died Monday, February 5, 2024 at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center, Paterson.
Born in Paterson, Mr. Coyle resided there before moving to Little Falls, where he lived from 1963-1991. He retired as a Lieutenant with the Little Falls Police Department where he served for 25 years. Additionally, he was past Recording Secretary for PBA Local #173. After retirement, he split his time between North Cape May, NJ and Lake Worth, FL.
Mr. Coyle was a parishioner of Holy Angels RC Church, Little Falls and served proudly in the United States Marine Corps from 1956-1959.
While attending Paterson Vo-Tech, he excelled on the varsity Basketball team and in Florida enjoyed bowling three times a week in his bowling league.
He was predeceased by his wife, the former Mary T. Keane, in 2005.
Survivors include his daughter, Deirdre Capalbo and her husband, John and their children, Maryann and John of Woodland Park.
Private Services were held under the supervision of Bizub-Parker Funeral Home, 47 Main Street, Little Falls. Those wishing to commemorate his life, may contribute in his memory to West Paterson First Aid Squad, 23 Rose Place, Woodland Park, NJ 07424.
