Juan Eduardo Forseca Cortez

Juan E. Fonseca Cortez, 63, of Paterson died Friday, January 16, 2026 at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center, Paterson.

Born in Lima, Peru he resided in Peru, moving to the United States in 2019, first settling in California before moving to New Jersey three years ago.

He was employed as a cook with Super Chix Kitchen of East Hanover. He loved to watch soap operas and to watch Universitario, a Peruvian Soccer Club.

Juan was predeceased by his parents, Jorge Aurelio Fonseca Luna and Andrea Margot Cortez Dardanelo.

Survivors include: his wife, Catalina Reyes; his four sons, Juan, Jorge, Oswaldo and Romario; his seven siblings, Richard, Jorge, Fredi, Linda Javier, Roy and Elsa Fonseca Reyes; and his five grandchildren, Juan, Jimena, Dayron, Noah and Antonela.

Visitation will be from 4-8 pm Tuesday, January 21, 2026 at Bizub-Parker Funeral Home, 47 Main Street, Little Falls with a Funeral Services during visitation. Private Cremation to follow.

Juan E. Fonseca Cortez, de 63 años, de Paterson, falleció el viernes 16 de enero de 2026 en el Centro Médico Universitario St. Joseph’s de Paterson.

Nacido en Lima, Perú, residió en Perú antes de mudarse a Estados Unidos en 2019, estableciéndose primero en California y luego en Nueva Jersey hace tres años.

Trabajaba como cocinero en Super Chix Kitchen de East Hanover. Le encantaba ver telenovelas y los partidos del Universitario, un club de fútbol peruano.

A Juan le precedieron en la muerte sus padres, Jorge Aurelio Fonseca Luna y Andrea Margot Cortez Dardanelo.

Le sobreviven su esposa, Catalina Reyes; sus cuatro hijos, Juan, Jorge, Oswaldo y Romario; sus siete hermanos, Richard, Jorge, Fredi, Linda Javier, Roy y Elsa Fonseca Reyes; y sus cinco nietos, Juan, Jimena, Dayron, Noah y Antonela.

El velorio se llevará a cabo de 4 a 8 p. m. el martes 21 de enero de 2026 en la Funeraria Bizub-Parker, ubicada en 47 Main Street, Little Falls, donde también se realizará el servicio fúnebre. La cremación se realizará en privado posteriormente.
