June A. (DiGiacomo) Dietz

JUNE A. (nee DiGiacomo) DIETZ, 79, of North Caldwell died Saturday, Oct. 15, 2022.

Born in Paterson, June was a lifelong resident of North Caldwell. She had been employed as a dedicated school secretary with Gould School, the Board of Education and West Essex Junior High School, all of North Caldwell. In her early career, she had been employed with Dow Chemical and Dugan’s Chicken Farm, North Caldwell. It was at Dugan’s where she would meet her future husband, Ken Dietz.

June earned her BA in General Humanities from Montclair State University in 2011 at the age of 62. She was a parishioner of Notre Dame RC Church, North Caldwell. June was a Master Gardener, enjoyed playing Mah Jong, and was a member of a bowling league and book club. Some of her greatest pleasures were walking the beach and collecting shells, drinking a glass of white wine while listening to Frank Sinatra, spending hours in the kitchen creating Italian dishes and playing Descending Balls for hours on the computer.

She was predeceased by her daughter Sandra Lee “Sandy” (nee Dietz) Steckler in 2009, her parents, Louis and Margaret (nee Passafaro) DiGiacomo and her nephew Adam Krasnomowitz.

Survivors include: her husband of 54 years, Kenneth Dietz; her daughter, Patricia Dietz and son-in-law, Tony Tufano of Columbia, SC; her sister, Lou Ann Krasnomowitz and brother-in-law Alex Krasnomowitz of North Caldwell; her four grandchildren, Erin, Megan, Kevin, and Sean Steckler of Mullica Hill, NJ; her nephews Alex and Steven Krasnomowitz of Boonton Township; and her niece Samantha Scalley of Fairfield.

Visitation will be 4:00-8:00 pm Wednesday at Bizub-Parker Funeral Home, 47 Main St., Little Falls. Funeral 10:00 am Thursday at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Celebration of life to follow at Mountain Lakes Club, 18 Lake Drive, Mountain Lakes. Memorial Contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105 are welcomed.
