Leslie T. Barnes

Leslie Rock Barnes, age 77, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 30, 2021, due to complications from a fall. Leslie was born on October 4^th, 1943 in Paterson, NJ and grew up in the township of Little Falls.  She was a 1961 graduate of Passaic Valley High School. She went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree from Cedar Crest College. In 1977, she married Robert Barnes and moved to Montclair. There she started her family with the birth of her only child, Sarah. She lived in Montclair for the next thirty years, before relocating to Little Falls, NJ. Leslie was a loving and devoted mother and dedicated homemaker. She loved traveling (especially to Sanibel Island, FL), spending time with friends, and being outdoors.

Leslie was predeceased by her parents, Wilhelmina and John T. Rock, and her brother, John V. Rock. She is survived by her daughter, Sarah Motyka (Mark), stepsons Robert Barnes (Melissa) and Matthew Barnes (Ann), sister-in-law, Clariss Rock, several nieces, many friends and her beloved cat, Clara.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Friday, Feb. 5, 2021 from 4-8 pm at Bizub-Parker Funeral Home, 47 Main St., Little Falls, NJ. A Prayer Service will be held during the Memorial Gathering. With the maximum capacity of 50 guests at the the funeral home, according to Gov. Murphy's executive order, all visitors are expected to wear masks and to practice social distancing.
