LINDA MAE (nee La Plante) DEL GUIDICE, 75, of Woodland Park died Saturday, November 16, 2024 suddenly at home.
Born in Providence, Rhode Island, Linda was a direct descendant of the Narragansett Indian Tribe as her great great great great grandfather was the Tribal Chief. Her ancestors on her mother’s side sailed from England on the Mayflower.
Linda came to New Jersey as a child in 1957 settling in West Paterson where she lived ever since. She was a graduate of Passaic Valley Regional High School and worked as a Teachers Aid with autistic children at The Phoenix Center of Nutley, work which she found very rewarding.
She was a parishioner of St. Bonaventure RC Church, Paterson and was a member of the Woodland Park Senior Citizens.
Linda was predeceased by her son, Joseph G. Del Guidice in 2021 and by her parents, Leo and Lillian (nee Madison) La Plante.
Survivors include: her husband of 56 years, George J. Del Guidice; her daughter, Gina Mae Osterhoudt and her husband, Jason of Rockaway; the apple of her eye, her granddaughter, Reese Mae Osterhoudt and her sister, Marjorie Shamey.
A Memorial Gathering will be held from 2-5 pm on Sunday, November 24, 2024 at Bizub-Parker Funeral Home, 47 Main Street, Little Falls. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 (www.stjude.org/donate)
