Lorraine A. (nee Turpstra) Craner, 85, of Little Falls died Saturday, July 3, 2021 while surrounded by family.
Born in Paterson, she resided in Little Falls for over 85 years. Ms. Turpstra was a 1953 graduate of Passaic Valley Regional High School, Little Falls. She was a 1956 graduate of the St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing and remained active in its Alumni Association. She worked her entire career as a Registered Nurse with St. Joseph’s University Medical Center of Paterson.
Lorraine was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Eagle Rescue Squad and a parishioner of Holy Angels RC Church, Little Falls. In her later years, she enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, coloring, and reading. She had a great love of elephants and lived by the expression “Live, Laugh, Love.”
Ms. Craner was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Matilda (nee Salerno) Turpstra; her two sisters, Rachel Rando and Gail Cimmino; and by her grandson, Michael Tremonte.
Survivors include: her three children, Robert Craner of Little Falls, Laura Tremonte of Totowa, and Kevin Craner of Little Falls; her six grandchildren, Christina Tremonte, Lisa Laviano, Melanie Tremonte, Nicholas Tremonte, Kevin Craner, and Zachary Craner, and her great-grandchild, Giovanni Laviano. She leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
