Raisa "Ruth" (Pytal) Yatcysn

Raisa “Ruth” (Pytal) Yatcysn, 98, of Singac died Friday, July 11, 2025.

Born in Singac, Mrs. Yatcysn was a lifelong resident. Mrs. Yatcysn was a catering sales associate with Birchwood Manor of Whippany before her retirement. Previously, she was the co-owner of Nestor's Restaurant of Singac with her late husband, Nestor Yatcysn.

Mrs. Yatcysn was a member of St. John the Baptist RO Church of Singac and a member of the St. Ann’s Altar Society. Throughout her life, she enjoyed gardening and travelling.

She was predeceased by her husband, Nestor Yatcysn, in 1967 and by her daughter, Karen Lavery, in 1976 as well as by her parents, Andrew and Anastasia (nee Taras) Pytal; and her siblings, John, Joseph, Paul, Peter and Mary Pytal and Olga (Pytal) Bortnek.

Survivors include her son, Mark Yatcysn of Singac, and her grandson, Matthew Lavery, and granddaughter, Ashley Arrant.

Visitation will be 9:30 AM Wednesday at St. John the Baptist RO Church, 29 Weaver Street, Singac, followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow at Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa.
