Robert F. McGough

ROBERT F. McGOUGH, 84, of WAYNE died Monday at home.

Born in Newark, he grew up in Belleville, moving to Rutherford when he was married and then to Little Falls in 1964. He moved to Wayne in 2013. In his youth, he was a drum major for the St. Mary’s Drum and Bugle Cadets in Nutley.

He retired after 40 years of working as an Equipment Instructor at the Garden State Parkway. A veteran of the US Army, he served his country from 1958-64. He was a parishioner and Eucharistic Minister and ran the Monthly 50/50 at Holy Angels RC Church and was a member of Our Lady of the Highway Council #3835, Knights of Columbus of Little Falls where he served on the membership committee.

He was a devoted fan of the NY Giants, NY Rangers and NY Yankees and was immensely proud of his grandchildren, attending all their sporting events.

Mr. McGough was predeceased by his parents, Matthew and Cecelia (nee Byrnes) McGough.

Survivors include: his wife of 62 years, the former Elaine Fazio; his three daughters, Maureen Liscio and her husband Thomas of Wayne, Patricia McGough and her partner, Gregg Persky of Verona and Denise Feinstein and her husband, Erik of Clifton; his three grandchildren, Justin Liscio and his wife, Elisa of Towaco, Jordan Lyn Biasella and her husband, Michael of Arlington, MA and Jarred Liscio of Wayne, NJ and his sister, Joan Higgins of Bridgewater. He was anxiously awaiting the arrival of his great grandson.

Bob was a kind and loving man with a wonderful sense of humor who impacted everyone he met. He will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be 4-8 pm Thursday at Bizub-Parker Funeral Home, 47 Main St., Little Falls. Funeral will be 9AM Friday from the funeral home and 9:30 am at Holy Angels RC Church, 465 Main St., Little Falls. Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Paterson.
