Robert L. Welch, Sr.

Robert L. Welch, Sr., passed away on June 27, 2026, in Wayne, New Jersey, at the age of 94.

Born on February 18, 1932, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late George Welch, Sr. and the late Marie (nee Alber) Welch. Robert was born and raised in Philadelphia and lived there until his early teens, when he moved with his family to Lodi, New Jersey. He later graduated from Lodi High School, a milestone that marked the beginning of his adult life in New Jersey.

After marrying, Robert made his home in Clifton, New Jersey, where he resided for the rest of his life. He built a steady and respected career as a lab technician at C.W. Brabender in South Hackensack, where he worked for many years before retiring. He was known for his dependable nature, his quiet manner, and the care he brought to his work each day.

Robert was a devoted family man whose life was centered around those he loved. He was the beloved husband of the late Shirley A. (nee O’Connor) Welch. He was the loving father of Robert L. Welch, Jr. and his girlfriend, Diane Raichel, Daniel Welch, and the late Brian J. Welch. He was also predeceased by his brother, George Welch, Jr. His family was an important part of his life, and he will be remembered with love by all who knew him.

Robert enjoyed the simple pleasures in life and found happiness in the pastimes he loved. He was an avid bowler and followed sports with enthusiasm, especially the New York Knicks and the New York Yankees. His quiet presence, gentle spirit, and good sense of humor made him a comforting and familiar figure to those around him. He was a funny and gentle man, and those qualities endeared him to family and friends alike.
Although he was a quiet man, Robert had a warmth that was felt deeply by those who knew him well.
 

Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 1, 2026 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Bizub-Parker Funeral Home, 47 Main Street, Little Falls, NJ 07424. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, July 2, 2026 at 10:30 am at the funeral home followed by the interment at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ.
