Roger A. Kent

Roger A. Kent, 87, of Pompton Lakes, New Jersey passed into eternal rest Thursday, April 6, 2023 at the Luther Woods Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Hatboro, PA.

Born in Paterson, Mr. Kent was raised in Wayne and for the past 50 years has resided in Pompton Lakes, NJ. Mr. Kent was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy in 1961. He retired from Bloomfield Electric in 2006. Mr. Kent was a member of the Pompton Lakes Golden Agers and the St. Mary’s Seniors, and enjoyed fishing, card playing, gardening and woodworking.

 He was predeceased by his wife, the former Jane A. Tomes, his parents, Harold and Georgianna (nee Wagoner) Kent, and his cousin Robert Whitehead.

He is survived by his two sons, Lloyd C. Kent and his wife, Maria of Pompton Lakes, NJ and Darren V. Kent and his significant other, Linda Currie of Rockaway, NJ; one daughter, Reverend Kathleen A. Kerin and her wife, Catherine Wood of Hatboro, PA; his three grandsons, Philip Kent and his wife Lauren, Adam Kent and Brian Kerin; his two great granddaughters, Landyn and Logan Kent; his sister, Donna Foley; and his cousins, Joan Whitehead, Billy Kent and Greg Kent.

Visitation will be on Thursday, April 13 from 5-8 pm and on Friday, April 14 from 10-11:15 am followed by a funeral service at 11:15 am at Bizub-Parker Funeral Home, 47 Main Street, Little Falls. Entombment to follow at Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 would be appreciated.
