ROSE (nee Perone) MONCATO, 89, of Little Falls died Saturday, June 28, 2025.
Born in Passaic, New Jersey, Mrs. Moncato resided in Little Falls since 1955. She was employed at The Little Falls Savings & Loan for many years and in later years at The Prospect Park Savings Bank in Woodland Park. More recently she was a crossing guard for the Township of Little Falls.
She was a parishioner of Holy Angels RC Church, Little Falls. Rose was a former board member for the Little Falls Athletic Club and the Little Falls School PTA.
Rose was a fabulous cake designer, baker and cookie maker, making themed birthday cakes for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives and friends. Rose and her late husband created a spectacular Christmas Winter Wonderland display, winning awards several years in a row. Her artistic abilities were a great source of pride to her.
She was predeceased by her husband, Victor A. Moncato, Sr., her parents, Charles and Jean (nee Polizzi) Perone and her sister, Nancy Taddei of New Castle, Delaware.
Survivors include: her daughter, Michele Landa and her husband, Greg of Little Falls, Victor Moncato, Jr. and his wife, Maria of Ramsey and John Moncato and his wife, Marie of Gowanda, NY; her siblings, Betty Curcio of Wayne, Charles Perone and his wife, Ann of Wayne, Phylis Fontana, formerly of Wayne and Kathy Holloman of West Orange; her five grandchildren, John Moncato and his wife, Kortney, Gregory Landa, Stephen Landa, Alex Moncato and his fiancé, Tyler O’Keefe, and Heather Irvine and her husband, RJ; and her five great grandchildren, Nicholas, Mason and Adriana Moncato and Sonny and Sammy Irvine.
Visitation will be from 3-7 pm on Wednesday at Bizub-Parker Funeral Home, 47 Main St., Little Falls. The funeral will be at 9:00 am Thursday from the funeral home and 9:30 am at Holy Angels RC Church, Little Falls. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa.
