In Loving Memory of Sadete “Deti” Dulatahu Imami
October 7, 1945 – December 1, 2024
Sadete “Deti” (née Dulatahu) Imami, was born on October 7, 1945 in Gjakovë, Kosovë to parents Bajram Dulatahu and Sabrije Tafarshiku Dulatahu. She grew up in Shkup, Macedonia, where she became a pharmacist and met her husband, Afrim Imami. She passed away peacefully on December 1, 2024 at the age of 79 after a battle with Alzheimer's.
Deti’s journey took her from Kosovë to Macedonia to Italy and eventually to the United States, where she lived most of her life in New York City and New Jersey. She was known for her deep love of family, bringing everyone together and supporting their dreams of a better life. She loved music, dancing, and singing. She brought warmth and joy to everyone around her.
Deti is survived by her husband, Afrim Imami; her children, Teuta Imami Bellçishta and Tirron Imami; her grandchildren, Elisa Bellçishta, Gent Bellçishta, Giana Imami, and Erik Imami; and her sisters, Nazife Dulatahu Turkeshi and Fikrije Dulatahu Fusfos. Her legacy is one of love, strength, and unity. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will be from 5-9 pm Tuesday at Bizub-Parker Funeral Home, 47 Main Street, Little Falls. Funeral will be 10:30 am Wednesday at the funeral home followed by burial at Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa.
