Shirley Juhlin, 77, of Little Falls died Monday, February 3, 2025.
Born in Paterson, Shirley was a lifelong Little Falls resident. She was a retired Vice President with MACY’S of West Orange, where she was employed for 31 years.
Shirley began her retail career at Sterns in 1982, retiring as a Vice President with Macy’s in February of 2013.
She was a member of the Little Falls United Methodist Church and the Little Falls Woman’s Club. Her greatest enjoyments were the beach, horseback riding at the Triple O Ranch, summers at the Jersey shore, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren and family. After retirement, she enjoyed traveling to Florida, Grand Cayman, and England. Her cockapoo companion, Axel, was a tremendous source of joy in her later years.
Shirley was a trailblazer in her work career, climbing the ladder when it was not as common for a woman to do so. Her work ethic, strength, and persistence made an impact on all those she touched, both personally and professionally. Shirley had a strong faith and was an active member of LFMC as well as serving on the Board of Trustees for many years.
Shirley was predeceased by her son, Mark O. Juhlin on October 1 of 2019; by her two sisters, Patricia Couso and Judith Caputo, and by her parents, Oscar and Mary (nee Hackes) Juhlin.
Survivors include: her son, Drew R. Juhlin and his wife, Kim of Bloomingdale, NJ; her daughter-in-law, Nina Valboa of Butler, NJ; her four grandsons, Quinn, Willem, Cooper and Harrison.
Visitation will be from 5-9 pm on Thursday at Bizub-Parker Funeral Home, 47 Main St., Little Falls. Funeral Service will be 10:30 am Friday at Little Falls United Methodist Church, 139 Main St., Little Falls (Please meet at Church).
