Thomas Nicol Jr. passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at the age of 90 after a long illness at home.
He was born in Kearny NJ, and graduated high school in Lyndhurst in 1949. He was a long-time resident of Clifton where he raised his family and then moved to Little Falls NJ in 2002. He leaves behind his loving wife, Vivien Iris (Hartson) Nicol of 63 years of marriage and his adoring daughters, Penny Nicol Zicker and her husband Albert Zicker and Paige Nicol Van Valkenburgh and her husband Roger Van Valkenburgh. He also leaves behind his loving grandchildren Albert Thomas Zicker, Skyler Leigh Van Valkenburgh and Allyson Nicol Zicker, who were his pride and joy. He was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather.
Thomas had a long and successful career as a Textile Converter at Waldrich Fabrics in Clifton NJ and Concord Textiles in Manhattan NY. He retired and loved to vacation with his family especially at the Jersey shore, cruising the islands and traveling to Europe. One of his favorite trips included a tour of England, Wales, Ireland and Paisley Scotland where his mother Gertrude Mary Weaver and father Thomas Nicol were born.
Thomas was pre deceased by his brothers Robert , John and George and his brother in laws Larry Kenney and Albert (Sonny) Hartson. He leaves behind also his loving sister in laws Diann Kenney and Diane Nicol, nieces, nephews and close family and friends.
We would like to thank all the Valley Hospice Team for their support, care and dedication to our family this past year as well as the numerous Aides, Rehab teams and Helpers that have been a part of our family over his long illness.
